American Wars and the Fates of Enemy Leaders in Those Wars
The United States has fought many wars, both large and small, since the first war against Britain, the American Revolutionary War. With killing of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Bahgdadi, and the subsequent killings of his successors in the current War on ISIS, the question came up of how many enemy leaders have been killed as a result of fighting against the United States?
To that end, we put together the following chart, showing all major American wars, along with a few smaller, more recent conflicts, that show the war, the years America was involved, the nation or foe the U.S. fought, the names of the enemy leaders, and what was the fate of those leaders. The chart shows (in boldface type) those enemy leaders who died, and in italics, those that survived, but were deposed as a result of the war.
The conflicts listed are all foreign wars. Internal American conflicts, like the Civil War and the American Indian Wars, are not listed. Let us know what you think of this Historyguy.com chart.
