Caucuses,
narrowly beating Rick
Santorum
by eight votes, but a later count put Romney in 2nd
place behind Santorum by 34 votes. Despite the late
"win" by Santorum, Romney rode his apparant victory as
a positive message about his candidacy as he won the
New Hampshire primary a week later.
