November 25, 1783--At the end of the American Revolution, the last British soldiers leave New York.

November 25, 1863--Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought in the American Civil War.

November 25, 1918--Colonel Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck, the elusive German commander in East Africa surrenders to Allied forces. This surrender occurred 14 days after German forces in Europe surrendered.

November 25, 1941--Admiral Harold R. Stark, U.S. chief of naval operations, informs Admiral Husband E. Kimmel, commander of the U.S. Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor, that both President Roosevelt and Secretary of State Cordell Hull think a Japanese surprise attack against American bases in the Pacifici was a distinct possibility. This "war warning" is sent to commanders in the Pacific. The Japanese would attack Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, 13 days later

November 25, 1949--Boston slugger Ted Williams, wins the American League MVP award.

November 25, 1961 --The Boston Celtics' Bob Cousy becomes only the second NBA player to score 15,000 points

November 25, 1963-- President John F. Kennedy was buried at Arlington National Cemetery, three days after his asssassination in Dallas.

November 25, 1980--Boxer Sugar Ray Leonard defeats Roberto Duran to regain the WBC Welterweight championship title
